I'm trying to make a tutorial on youtube and I'm wondering which software I need to be using for a Mac to record the screen while i'm working on it.

You can download a free trial for camstasia,but i'm not sure if it's compatible for a Mac.Or you can use CamStudio.CamStudio is a free software.

Whenever I draw in flash the brush strokes become much rounder/smoother when I finish the stroke, is there anyway to get this effect in Photoshop CS3?

You could try selecting your brush stroke by going to Select > Load Selection, then go to Select > Modify > Contract, put 1px, then go to Select > Modify > Smooth, put 5-10px, then Select > Inverse. Then press the backspace key and it will make it a little smoother. Creating paths with the pen tool would get much better results though and allow for change at a later time.

I love to fool around on my computer and have recently been making my husband's logos for his business but it's limited b/c i don't have anything other than the default brushes and fonts. Is there a site or some good sites where I can get fonts and photoshop brushes as well?

With your mouse pointer, click and drag from anywhere inside the side ruler (for a vertical guide) or top ruler (for a horizontal guide) out to somewhere in your image where you want the guide to be. To get rid of a guide, click it and drag it off the page.

To turn existing guides on and off, go to View > Show > Guides or type Control + ; [the semi-colon key].

Ok I have a layer one and a layer 2. Two seperate layers but you cant see layer 2 because it is all hiden by layer one. I want to get layer 2 the background for layer 1. How on Earth do I do this. I am using Adobe Photoshop Cs3 if this helps!!!

I have two layers. Layer one is a black and white texture photograph. Layer two is my image. How can I use layer one as a mask? I’m trying to achieve a ‘worn’ look.

I’ve tried right clicking on layer one and selecting ‘make clipping mask’, but it doesn’t do anything.

Instead of a mask you can use a blend mode. To the texture layer apply an opacity of 70-75. Then choose the Linear Burn or the Color Burn blend mode.

I am trying to create a background that is all small polka dots each evenly spaced (like the one used on the intro of VH1's Hogan Knows Best)

Also how do you create the transparent layer with the gray/white squares on a PSD file & make it show up when you print- I saw it printed out and it looks cool, anyone know how to create this stuff without doing it all completely manual?

-Create a new file with at least 30 x 30 pixels ( size is up to you)
- Create a circle
- Go to Edit > Define Pattern > and name your pattern
- Go to your main picture and create a new layer
- Go to Edit > Fill Pattern > and select from the list (Pattern) and click your newly created pattern.

i want to make an animation but i cant make the file thing a shape.i did before but it was on accident and now i dont know how to. can someone tell me how?please

You are going to have to be waaaay more specific than that. Photoshop is a very complicated program and can take up to 2 years to learn. (I know, I did it). Airbrushed photographs and all the other graphics you see in magazines are done with Photoshop, for instance. It is not really for consumers and is intended to be used in a professional environment (large companies, publishing houses, etc.) But, anyway. First of all, what "file thing?" Second of all, Adobe Photoshop doesn't do animation, Adobe Flash does.
