its like the Godfather's face in the poster.
The you make your picture like the Godfather's using photoshop.
There are several The Godfather posters. Please tell use which one.
I hope you do not mind me explaining a non-destructive "pro" way of doing it
If it is the black and white one with a red rose, then make sure the picture has a darker background than the subject, now make two adjustment layers (from the bottom of the layers palette or via the layers menu):
1. Hue/saturation – set saturation to -100 (this will remove the color)
2. Levels – drag the white and black point very close together. Move them around until happy.
3. Make a layer below the adjustments, and paint in it with a black brush to remove the white areas you do not want.
4. Make a layer above the adjustments, set blending mode to multiply. Take a hard red brush and paint in where you want the red color.
In the poster they also had a pro photographer take the original photo, and they probably did some manual painting as well to make it just the way they wanted.
If you want the version with more color that looks almost hand colored, try dragging the white and black a bit apart in the levels adjustment to get more shading. Then do what you did for the red rose, just with a softer brush, and less saturated colors. To use the original colors of the photograph instead, try lower the opacity of your hue/saturation layer a bit (and maybe place it above the levels adjustment).

(using Photoshop CS2)
[[Comic book effect... you know...bold outlines, kinda contrast-y, those little dots all over, etc.]]
Step-by-step instructions or a link to a good tutorial would be a ton of help! Thanks! =)
Funny you should ask… I just found a tutorial a couple days ago that I bookmarked: http://www.photoshoproadmap.com/Photoshop-blog/2007/09/13/give-your-photos-a-retro-comic-book-effect/
It has some links near the bottom for free comic style fonts also.

Everytime I download a font from dafont.com , I try to put it into my fonts folder like everyone has been saying , but it never seems to show up on my photoshop . I use photoshop CS3 and I would really like some new fonts . Can someone please help me ?
Thanks .
Instead of dragging and dropping the font file to the folder try this:
While in the font folder, go to File and select Install New Font…
If that doesn’t work, try dragging and dropping the font file to this directory: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts

Well, I imported a picture into photoshop elements, and I'm just wondering if there's a way to make it Layer 1, and another layer the background. Please help!
Thanks!
Right click on the Background layer then click on Layer from Background. Open another photo and click and drag it into the first one. Its layer will be above the old Background layer in the Layer Palette. Just click and drag the new photo's layer beneath the old background and it's the new background. If you don't want the old background to show, just click on its eye.

When using the shape tool in photoshop, each time you draw with the tool, it creates a new layer. It is possible your shapes are not completely disappearing, but simply on a different layer.
Check the layers palette, and click on the different layers to see if that makes them visible.

I have been trying to find out a way of getting my own signature on a digital photo. However, all the links suggest that I use photoshop. Anyone have an idea?
try using MS paint … txt in background option
or try d/l paint.net or gimp 2 both free programs
