Paradise Signature - Part 2 of 2

Sunday Aug 31, 2008

Outcome:

Step 1

For this step you’ll have to make another applied image. How to do so is explained in step 4. Now set this layer to multiply, and set the opacity to about 90% and the Fill to about 30-50%. Choose whatever looks best for your signature but keep the Fill fairly low. This should make the entire signature darker and maybe add some depth to it. You should have something like this now:

Step 1

Now make a new layer and a new applied image. Now smudge this layer either with the brush that was provided or with a splatter brush and basically the same settings. Now set this layer to Soft Light and lower the opacity of it.

Step 1

Repeat the applied image section of step 12. Now erase with the brush that was earlier provided around the stock. Now move this layer 2-5 nudges to the left or to the right. This should create some added effect around the render.

Step 1

To add some focus around the face, you need to grab a large gray brush. Choose a light gray, nothing very dark. Now set this layers blending mode to Linear dodge and play with the opacity a bit. Experiment until you find something that fits your signature.

Step 5

Add some black brushing on soft light to add some depth. Brush in the darker spots of your signature, the sections that you want to look farther away in a sense.

Step 5

Yet again make an applied image on a new layer. Now for this layer go to Filter > Distort > Wave. Erase almost all of it except for a bit along the bottom of the signature. This should add a broken looking effect to the vector shapes you made earlier.

Step 5

Again, make an applied image. This time apply the sharpen (Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen) filter to this layer. Set this layer to Darken and don’t fool around with the opacity.

Step 5

Now add a border, finishing touches, and maybe a few lighting perfections, and your done! Here is the finished product:
