Ryu Signature – Part 1 of 3

Outcome:

Start off by adding your render (click here for mine). Now fill the background with a nice color that goes well with your render. It does not technically have to be from the render, but it must look good with the render. The choice of background color in this sig was an off blue color. This matches the render very well.

![]()
Alright, now add some Cinema 4d (C4D) renders. In this case they are “effect” renders and can be found at pretty much any up-to-date graphics site. To get some renders, check out out c4d renders page.. Now place these into your signature on Lighten or Screen. Make sure that you create a very dominant flow, in this case the flow was obvious because of the render.

![]()
Now you need to add the following adjustment layers. To do this, go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > (Select it here). All of these adjustment layers are on Normal Blending Mode at 100% opacity.

![]()
Now on a new layer make an applied image. To do this, create the new layer, then go to Edit > Apply Image. Now you need to apply the spatter filter to this layer. Go to Filter > Brush Strokes > Spatter. Now set this layer to lighten on 50% opacity, and take out a large soft round brush (~100px) and erase over the render so that the render’s face is not obstructed by the spatter. Now make another applied image. Now apply the Plastic Wrap Filter (Filter > Artistic > Plastic Wrap) and mess with the settings until you find something that suites your signature. Now set this layer to Lighten on 45% opacity.

![]()
Now you need to add the following adjustment layers:
Gradient map: Soft Light, 45% opacity.
Photo Filter: Normal, 100% opacity.
Photo Filter: Normal, 100% opacity.

![]()
Now make a new layer and a new applied image. Now go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Select 2px. Now erase around the face of your render and set this layer to lighten on 100% opacity.

![]()
Add the following Adjustment Layers
Gradient Map: Normal, 100% opacity.
Curves: Multiply, 25% opacity.

![]()
Now, get out your radial Gradient tool, and on a new layer, make some lighting. Do this by making a White > Black gradient from one of the corners of your signature, or from a side.

![]()
Create a new layer and make another applied image. Now go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Select 1-2px. Now set this layer to Screen and set the opacity to around 35%.

![]()
Repeat the spatter part of Step 4. This time though, set it to Soft Light on 45% opacity. Erase around the renders face, again.
