This video isn’t too straightforward. It was originally intended for newbies. Therefore, it’s quite basic… I might make a more advanced (and hopefully, better made) tutorial soon.

I apologise for the audio, I had a bit of a cold when the tutorial was filmed. This tutorial should show you how to create model quality images.
Feel free to leave constructive criticism- this is my first tutorial, so it probably won’t be the best on the internet.

Is there a photoshop tutorial for replicating the type of effect used to produce the "red swirly background" on this page? (I'm not talking about the floral prints, just the red background on that image.)

as you say the shape of the swirl, and not pattern within, you could mask that area or outline with pen tool and convert, then place as overlay to pattern the apply to photos, also could design in illustrator, then open in photoshop later,

I am trying out Photoshop CS3 Extended and I want to find out how to "shrink" faces, raise eyebrows… you know…. fun stuff! Where can I find a good tutorial?

First of all try itunes you can download tons of photoshop tutorials for free. I have like 250. Also try http://www.planetphotoshop.com most of the vids are free. for the stuff you are describing you want to do you might want to play with the clone tool.
