Where do I save a texture to in photoshop? Do I save it under my brushes or actions or something?
Posted by admin | Under photoshop texture Sunday Dec 28, 2008For instance, if I download a "Texture" from Deviantart.com, what file would I need to save it under? I've tried both brushes and actions..

It says its a texture package? So how would I download that?
As Perki said, "textures" are just another JPEG photo as far as Photoshop is concerned. There is nothing special about them that has anything to do with photoshop. You simply create a "textures" folder and put them in there. When you want one, you go to the folder and select and open one, just like you would any other photo. A "texture" photo is not an action or brush, it is just a JPEG photo, and you treat it as such.

Where I can get some nice wood texture brushes for photoshop and also maybe ones that look like windows?
Posted by admin | Under photoshop texture Sunday Dec 14, 2008Wood - realistic
Windows - the kind that you have in your home : )
For free?
Get an account on DeviantArt.com.
haha, no this is not spam. There are actually some amazing photoshop brushes made and offered by the users there, and they are free, safe, and most are made very well.
When you get there, just click on the “Resources and Stock Images” category on the left hand side of the screen. It will give you more options, where you should find “Application Resources”. If you click on that and then type in what you are looking for in the search bar, you should get many options of brushes to use. Also, you will need to click the “photoshop brushes” option on the lefthand side, so only photoshop brushes show up. Make sure that at the right hand side of the screen, near the top, that “All Time” is selected. Because that will give you the most popular brushes that match your searching criteria.
Here is the search for wood:

There are not as many options for windows, so here is just one that I thought may work well:

I hope this all is useful for you!
You should definately search around the brushes, tutorials and textures sections on DeviantArt (as well as the rest of the site) if you have not already. I think you may find it very intresting. ![]()

How do you manipulate pictures with photoshop/ use photoshop?
Posted by admin | Under photoshop texture Sunday Nov 30, 2008Can somebody please tell me how to use Photoshop?
I don’t know how to use anything and I really want to learn. I want to learn how to manipulate pictures, use textures and brushes. Also, when you download something from Photoshop (texture, text, etc) how do you install/upload it into your Photoshop?
Sorry but this is all new to me :S
I need someone that could tell of a website that has step-by-step tutoraials or something similar.
Photoshop is really easy after you get the hang of it. I'm pretty good and do it as a hobby by making signatures for forums and banners for people out of my leisure time.
Note that one of the most powerful tool in Photoshop is creating layers. Layers overlap each other so you can change the effect of each one and you can blend them together.
Me, I just toyed around with the controls for a while before actually getting started, so I got the hang of the program easily.
You, on the other hand, might want to use a tutorial. Here's a great site that has beginner and advanced tutorials for creating stuff on Photoshop. They teach you techniques which you can apply to other images with over 56 tutorials.

Posted by admin | Under photoshop texture Sunday Nov 23, 2008
In this tutorial Lindsay Adler will show you how to add an extra dimension to your images in photoshop– texture. Adding texture to images can help create the appearance of an image being old, tattered or worn. Texture can also add an emotional dimension to a photograph, making it moody and more expressive. Watch this tutorial to see how easy it is to add textures to your images.
