well i can write text but it's EXTREMELY SMALL! i have photoshop CS. has this happened to anyone? what can i do to fix this?

Make sure your image is zoomed in at 100%.

If that doesn't solve the problem, then change the text size.

For instance, placing a colored texture over a line art? How would I do that? The texture doesn't have to be in color, it's just most tutorials that I see have colored textures like, sepia toned paper-ish style textures… I wanna do that! teach me somebody!!!

First off, texture is not a color. Texture is what the surface is of the photo
looks like grainy, mosaic tile look,patchwork ,and stained glass etc.
