Adobe Photoshop CS4: 3D Shape Demo

Watch the HD version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDp5RTir4j0&fmt=18
In this video I will be showing you some basic shapes built into the program. I have made this video because I only showed the “donut” shape in the last one.
The movement of 3D objects is very smooth, the recording studio slowed down the rendering in this video. However, the movement should be more fluid than the last one.
O Shapes demonstrated
- Donut
I created a dough-like texture and Photoshop transformed it in 3D space. Downloadable version has sugar.
- Soda Can
One of my favourites, I created a Coca-Cola can that can be rotated in 3D space. Downloadable version has more accurate properties eg. glossiness
- 3D Postcard
Quite a powerful one that is great for perspective and advertisements. I rotated a 2D object in 3D space, sort of like a photograph. Downloadable version is the same.
- Sphere
A very good shape that I have used to create an orb like effect. There are many tutorials to create a good orb, I have applied their techniques with a twist. Downloadable version has better light locations.
I have used various pictures to demonstrate why these objects would be great for certain tasks.
If you like the look of these 3D shapes then you can download the improved high detail versions: http://r0qwyg.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pc3yBU3zqOjS-GgjK8GGnL3gbEjdNc_41JYfbIECKKDj3HsByGrYcpoSth-psoFACFABbThqwdKg/3D%20Objects.zip?download
All you need is Photoshop CS3 Extended or greater.
Duration : 0:2:8

It is only available in CS3 and above as I told you in your other comment. Unfortunately, CS2 was before any 3D features had been added.
Sorry about that.
I am an artist I recently started to play around with photo shop how can i get a planet or sphere to rotate? thanks!
cool stuff
Thanks, I am hoping to make a lot more than my first 6 to snap up high rankings in the search results and get more views
very cool
I have limited my memory in my preferences so Photoshop doesn’t hog it all. All I need to do is see it going the direction, smooth motion isn’t worth all my RAM.
But maybe when I get a new computer in December I will let Photoshop make the most of it.
Otherwise….niiiiiice.
Get a faster computer. Its hard to follow when its so jumpy.
Glad you liked it. My video: Adobe Photoshop CS4: 3D Capabilities shows you lots of things you can do to these 3D objects eg. painting using brushes, dodge, smudge on the 3D object.
That’s gross (in a good way)
Please leave your thoughts on the 3D models here.
