3D is very new to Photoshop only really coming into existence when CS3 was released. In CS3 however the 3D capabilities were pretty limited, but with the release of CS4 3D exploded into Photoshop and now has it’s own set of tools and even it’s own panel. You are now able to even create true 3D objects right from within Photoshop and texture them.
This lesson is one of the several layers lessons from my new Photoshop Training DVD and explains what Layers are, the interface, what they can do for you, and how to manipulate some of their features. Here is a great little effect that adds a whole lot of “mood” to an image by softening and increasing contrast and also features a vignette around the focal point of your choosing. The beauty of this technique is that by using adjustment layers we have full control over the final effect’s strength and color. This one is a great tip for Photographers of any type.
